Matthew Montague Architects is celebrating after successfully securing planning permission at appeal for a modern private home in Derbyshire.

The firm has received the green light for the detached four-bedroom dwelling in Main Road, Pentrich, in Amber Valley.

The client approached Matthew Montague Architects after purchasing a plot of unkempt land located between two properties.

The site is situated within Green Belt – but the firm felt the land clearly presented opportunities for infill development.

The plans were initially rejected at committee in January – but recently an appeal was upheld, granting full planning permission.

In a statement, Matthew Montague Architects said: “The client went to appeal because we believed there was no justifiable reason for the refusal.

“We are delighted with the decision and look forward to seeing the project progress to construction.”
