Architects’ Morrison Design has revealed the key role it is playing in the creation of a new ‘sustainable travel zone’ in Derby.

The Derby firm is the appointed architect for the Future Mobility Zone, which is under construction at the University of Derby’s Kedleston Road site.

A partnership between Derby City Council and the university, it will be the first of its kind in the city, offering multiple transport choices in one place and enhancing sustainable travel facilities for students and staff.

Other companies working on the scheme include structural and civil engineering firm Rodgers Leask.

Michael Clarke, senior architect at Morrison Design, said: “We are really pleased with how the Glulam structure is progressing on site.

“As the project is continuously taking shape it is also starting to exhibit the university’s sustainable targets and aspirations which is fantastic to see.”
