A TV antiques expert is set to take centre stage at a special fundraising event in aid of child exploitation charity Safe and Sound.

Melbourne-based antiques dealer and auctioneer Irita Marriott will be the guest of honour at the event, which will take place at Great Northern Classics on Friday 28 February.

Guests will be invited to take one item for valuation by Irita who is best known for her regular appearances on BBC1’s Antiques Road Trip, Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Bargain Hunt as well as fronting her own series on Really TV entitled The Derbyshire Auction House.

All the money raised at the event, which is being sponsored by Timms Solicitors, will be donated to Safe and Sound, which works to protect and support children, young people and families across the county whose lives are affected by online grooming, child sexual exploitation, County Lines, trafficking, modern slavery and radicalisation.

The evening will include a dinner, a presentation and Q&A by Irita and an introduction by Safe and Sound chief executive Tracy Harrison.

Tracy said: “This is a totally new event for Safe and Sound and I am grateful to our committee of volunteer fundraisers who have made this evening possible.

“I hope that, as well as being an interesting insight into the world of antiques, we will be able to raise much-needed funds for our charity which supports some of the most vulnerable young people and families in our local communities.”
