Katapult lands new deal to work with Middle East entertainment giant
International themed attraction designer Katapult has signed a new agreement with a major hospitality and entertainment company based in the Middle East.
Al Hokair Group has over 92 entertainment centres and 35 hotels within its portfolio across the region, built up over five decades under the leadership of Sheikh Abdulmohsin Alhokair.
The new contract with Katapult, which was signed at the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo, will see both companies working together on developing the strategy, guest experience and design of the next generation of themed attractions within Al Hokair Group’s portfolio.
Dawn Foote, chief executive and co-founder of Katapult, said: “We are delighted to work alongside Al Hokair to help them reimagine existing and create brand new themed attractions across the Middle East.”
Mishal AlHokair, deputy chief executive of entertainment at Al Hokair, said: “We are pleased to have this collaboration with Katapult, the organisation that continues to be relied upon by some of the largest IPs in the leisure and attractions industry.”
Katapult designs themed attractions and experiences that amaze and engage visitors globally.
Its work is enjoyed by 50 million visitors, at over 81 attractions, in 20 different countries.
As well as increasing guest experience, the firm aims to help its clients generate more income, more fans and bring the vision for their attraction to life.
Katapult has been working with Al Hokair since 2018 but the new agreement formalises their partnership.
Mishal AlHokair said: “We are sure that this collaboration will add a great value to our current and future projects.
“This solid step comes in line with the group’s vision and strategic road map for the coming five years, and will help us to mitigate the market changes, strengthen the company’s standing through repositioning our leisure and entertainment interests, redeveloping and refreshing the company’s main locations and developing them to align with today’s customer and market trends.
“We will continue to create immersive experiences and maintain high standards of our coming leisure and entertainment projects where we will have the whole family getting creative by unlocking their creative potential together via the high-quality hands-on experiences designed by Katapult.”
Dawn said: “Our working relationship over the last three years has been a joy, and we’re proud to formally agree our partnership in what is Katapult’s 20th year in existence.”
Katapult also announced at the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo that it has become members of the Middle East and North Africa Leisure Attractions Council.
