SureScreen recognised for outstanding achievement
SureScreen Diagnostics has been recognised with a regional award for its boundary-pushing work in Covid testing.
The Derby-based firm won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Medilink Midlands Business Awards for its “significant or vital impact on the community or market”.
It was among six life-science companies from the East Midlands which won awards at a ceremony seen by more than 130 businesspeople online.
The UK government has secured from SureScreen tens of millions of rapid coronavirus tests which were the first British tests to be validated in the laboratory by Public Health England.
Its antibody and antigen tests for Covid-19 have also been exported to 53 countries and dependencies across the world.
The firm has recently expanded into new premises at Sherwood Business Park, with plans for 1,000 additional jobs.
Director David Cambell said: “We are delighted to have been given the prestigious Medilink award for Outstanding Achievement.
“It is a great boost for our team who have dedicated themselves to producing the best possible tests for Covid-19.”
SureScreen will now be put forward for the national Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards, which take place on 1 October.
