Artists show ‘Unity’ at new online exhibition

Work by a group of artists from a creative wellbeing programme run by QUAD is featured as part of a new online exhibition celebrating the power of working together.

Members of GoldsQUAD created the work, which features in the ‘Unity’ exhibition organised by Air Arts.

The exhibition demonstrates ‘unity’ in its many forms and, in particular, celebrates nursing and midwifery.

GoldsQUAD is one of QUAD’S longstanding participation projects for anyone aged 50 and above who is interested in creativity, learning new skills, and trying new challenges in a supportive environment.

Its members worked with artist Philippa Larkam to design and embroider stitched hands, which represent the day-to-day work of nurses and midwives all over the world.

Owen Hurcombe, creative wellbeing curator at QUAD, said: “We are really proud of the artwork created by our GoldsQUAD members for the ‘Unity’ exhibition.

“The online exhibition is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the great work of the NHS but also share the fantastic skills the group have learned through taking part in our programme of activities at QUAD.”

The Unity exhibition is available to view until September here.
