Mountain challenge to raise hospice funds

Treetops Hospice has announced details of an overseas mountain trek challenge, which will raise vital funds for its services.

The five-day trek in Morocco is set to take place from 12 to 16 October 2022 and will include a climb to the top of North Africa’s highest peak, Mount Toubkal, which is four times higher than Mount Snowdon.

Mike Pastor, events relationship manager at Treetops, said: “After being unable to travel abroad for such a long time, we’re thrilled to be offering people the chance to join ‘Team Treetops’ and tackle this exciting overseas challenge.

“It’s not a challenge for the faint-hearted as we’ll be ascending 4,167 metres in rocky terrain but from the top of Mount Toubkal, the views over the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert are stunning.

“It’s a real once-in-a-lifetime experience that you can complete over a long weekend.

“You’ll take away some incredible memories, as well as the knowledge that you’ve helped Treetops Hospice care for even more patients in the local community.”

Team members are being asked to each raise £1,650, which will cover the trekking challenge costs, as well as raise valuable funds for the hospice.
