Calm in a Box, which aims to improve people’s wellbeing, has announced it will be holding its first physical retreat as lockdown continues to ease.

During the pandemic, the company, founded by Sarah Markham, has been creating bespoke gift packages designed to improve wellbeing, as well as holding online courses and workshops.

Now, it is creating a wellbeing experience for teams to finally come together again to reconnect and focus on their wellbeing after all the stress and anxiety of the last 12 months.

The first retreat will take place on Monday, 7th June at the Kedleston Country House Hotel, and will aimed at human resources teams.

There they will learn new tools and techniques for better organisational wellbeing, share best practice and also take some time to allow themselves to reset and restore their energy.

Sarah said: “Human resources are often the people that everyone else goes to with their problems and challenges.

“Employees now expect their employers to care for their wellbeing equally alongside commercial outcomes, and to be supported in balancing their work with personal goals and passions.

“Employers who care about their people and their wellbeing through holistic wellbeing programmes will see calmer, happier and healthier employees.

Beth Mannion, head of HR business partnering at Cooper Parry, is attending the event.

She said: “At Cooper Parry, we are passionate about creating a culture where people can thrive and a key part of that is ensuring we look after our employees in a holistic way.

“I know Calm In A Box share our passion for co-creating amazing cultures and I’m looking forward to a day to have some space to reflect on how we continue to do that brilliantly as well as have some time to restore my own energy.”
