New director for YMCA Derbyshire
YMCA Derbyshire has appointed an experienced education specialist to a newly introduced director of lifelong learning role.
Louise Curd, who has previously worked as director of programmes at Learn by Design and director of enterprise and innovation at Derby College Group, will be joining the charity in early June.
The position has been created in response to the skills for jobs agenda set out by the Government, which calls for more concentration on education and training.
Gillian Sewell, chief executive of YMCA Derbyshire, said: “Since the pandemic began, there has been a huge effect on unemployment rates.
“Now, more than ever, we need to support people of all ages to develop their skills in a rapidly changing world.
“Adding Louise to our team will give us the expertise we need to contribute towards the economic recovery by providing opportunities to our community.”
