Good eggs at Blue Arrow give Easter boost

Six worthy causes in Derby are to benefit from an annual Easter Egg donation campaign spearheaded by recruitment firm Blue Arrow.

Every year, for the past five years, the firm has held a campaign to gift Easter eggs to children and families who may not otherwise receive one.

This year, Sean Clare, business director at Blue Arrow, has purchased 630 eggs, which will be distributed to me&dee, Safe & Sound, Children First Derby, Derventio Housing Trust, Treetops Hospice Care and Funability.

Sean said: “I love being able to coordinate this every year. The last two years have been my most ambitious targets but Covid has tried its best to make it more difficult.

“Since launching the campaign I have come across more causes each year and it is concerning how many just in Derbyshire there are that constantly need support.

“This is a small part but I take great pride in being able to make these donations.

“It isn’t possible without the amazing support and generosity of the people that donated – from Blue Arrow employees, clients Vaillant Boilers, a truly incredible donation from Adam and Natalie from Colleague Box and other members of the Derby business network.

“The work that all of these charities do is incredible and they are so close to the hearts of many of the people that donated. I hope to be back with even more eggs in 2022!”

Tracy Harrison, chief executive of Safe & Sound, said, “We are delighted to be nominated as one of the charities to receive a donation of 103 Easter eggs and we cannot wait to give these to the children and young people we support.”

Maria Hanson, from me&dee, said: “This is the second year that Sean has donated Easter Eggs to us.

“Once again, I would like to thank him, Blue Arrow and all the people that contributed to this tremendous fundraising effort – you are all #memorymakers.”
