Trentbarton gives backing to outdoor movie screenings
Bus company trentbarton has given its backing to QUAD’s summer of outdoor movie screenings.
Along with the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site Partnership, they are teaming up for ‘mango Presents Cinema in the Valley’ in August and September, which has also benefited from funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England.
The blockbuster screenings are being sponsored by the mango ticketing app, with trentbarton putting on additional buses to enable film fans to easily get to the valley locations and home again.
Locations for the screenings include Belper, Darley Abbey and Cromford.
Jeff Counsell, managing director of trentbarton, said: “mango is all about giving our customers value for money, as well as an easy and flexible way to travel, including for leisure.
“After the year we’ve all had, everyone is looking forward to getting out to enjoy the summer and what better way for film fans than to jump on a bus to watch a magical movie outdoors in our wonderful Derwent Valley.”
Dr Alex Rock, from QUAD, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing outdoor cinema to the historic surroundings of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
“These screenings will give people the opportunity to see the unique heritage of our county in a new light and have lots of fun too.”
The films that will be shows include Bohemian Rhapsody, Grease, Dirty Dancing, The Greatest Showman, Labyrinth, Mamma Mia and The Blues Brothers.
Tickets, which are now on sale, along with full details of the film showings can be found at www.summernightsfilm.co.uk.
