Key landmark for regeneration scheme

Work on the first phase of a major £340 million regeneration scheme has taken an important step forward.

Construction work is well underway on One Waterside Place, a building that represents the first phase of the Basin Square character area, within the Chesterfield Waterside regeneration scheme.

When complete, the seven-storey office building will provide Grade A offices totalling 32,000 sq ft, alongside a retail unit of circa 5,200 sq ft. The space is being marketed by FHP Property Consultants and Knight Frank.

Recently, a ‘bolt-tightening’ ceremony was held to mark the completion of the steelwork for the building.

The project has been forward-funded by Chesterfield Borough Council as a key strategic investment for the town.

Councillor Tricia Gilby, leader of the borough council, who joined the ceremony virtually, said: “It’s fantastic to see this building progressing at such pace. When complete One Waterside Place will provide modern office accommodation for businesses and in turn will create more jobs for local residents.”
