Peak District in Europe's Top 5
The Peak District has been named as one of Europe’s top five national parks by Tripadvisor.
The 2021 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards has placed it fourth overall, based on traveller reviews and ratings.
Others placed in the top five were the Yorkshire Dales, Iceland's Vatnajokull National Park, Croatia's Plitvice Lakes National Park and the New Forest.
The Peak District is also one of just two British destinations included on the world's best National Parks list, placing 24th globally.
The accolades coincide with the Peak District National Park's 70th anniversary year.
It was the first national park to be created in the UK, designated on 17 April, 1951.
