Royal Crown Derby appeals for memories

The museum of Royal Crown Derby has made an appeal for people’s personal memories of its products for a special project.

The Royal Crown Derby Museum, which is based at the firm’s Osmaston Road manufacturing site, is looking for contributions to its Pattern of Life project.

Funded by Arts Council England, the museum is looking to collect people’s memories about Royal Crown Derby and hear stories about what it means to them.

In particular, the museum is seeking submission from anyone with Gypsy, Romany or Traveller heritage who has a treasured item or a collection of Royal Crown Derby.

The museum will then work with selected participants to collate video submissions and weave them together into a digital interactive experience to help museum visitors understand an important part Royal Crown Derby’s social history.

Submissions close on 17 March. To help encourage submissions two contributors will be chosen at random from the first 60 submissions, who will receive an Old Imari Solid Gold Band Butterfly.
