Apprenticeships give young people Purpose
The boss of full-service marketing agency Purpose Media has hailed apprenticeships as one of the best sources of talent a business can get.
The Derbyshire-based firm has a flourishing apprenticeship scheme, with the business taking on more than 20 apprentices since it was formed back in 2008.
Managing director Matt Wheatcroft has now thrown his weight behind National Apprenticeship Week, which runs until 14 February.
This annual week-long celebration is held to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices across the country and aims to recognise how employers of all sizes have stepped up to the challenge during this unprecedented time.
Towards the end of last year, Purpose announced it was creating four new apprenticeship roles, as a result of businesses wanting to fast track their on-line presence and find new ways to market.
The firm, which has a history of success nurturing apprentices into management roles, appointed Derby-based EMA Training to find and put forward suitable candidates.
Matt said: “Our experience proves that apprenticeship schemes are one of the best sources of talent you can get.
“Many of our team that have been nurtured through the apprentice route now hold middle management roles.
“This proves that employing apprentices can lead to success both for the employer and the apprentice.”
Apprenticeships and Skills Minister Gillian Keegan said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a great opportunity to highlight the amazing opportunities that an apprenticeship brings to employers, individuals and the economy.
“As a former apprentice I know what a life changing experience it can be.”
