The founder of Aristotle Financial Planning is to hand over a share of his profits throughout 2021 to the me&dee charity.

James Wallis, who started the firm at Connect Derby’s Friar Gate Studios, has selected me&dee as his chosen charity of the year.

He has agreed to make donations over the next 12 months to the charity, which sends families who are going through tough times on much-needed holidays.

Father-of-two James set his business up last year and, despite the difficulties of launching his company during a pandemic, he says he is beginning 2021 with confidence.

As a result, he has decided to share the spoils from his growing client-base by making a donation every month from the profits, as well as donating £100 every time he draws up a financial plan for a new customer.

James decided to back me&dee after finding out about how it raises money in order to send families who are living with devastating and terminal illnesses on holidays or short breaks.

It was founded in 2006 by Maria Hanson, who launched the charity in memory of her cousin, Delia, and has since been awarded an MBE for her work.

James said: “I have been wanting to support a Derby charity for a while and when I found out more about the work of me&dee I knew it was the perfect choice.

“As a dad myself I’m very family-orientated and I can understand what a massive difference it would make to my life if anybody in my family had a life-changing or terminal illness.

“After I spoke to Maria, I realised how much I’d like to help families who are unfortunate to be in that position in whatever way I can.”

Maria said: “I was absolutely delighted to receive a call from James and to discuss his plans to become involved in supporting me&dee.

“After losing so much of our funding for 2020, this news was both welcoming and deeply appreciated. I look forward to our partnership.”
