Xmas tree recycling scheme success

Recycling and waste management specialist Ward Recycling has helped Treetops Hospice Care raise a record amount from its annual Christmas tree recycling scheme.

The hospice’s annual Treecycling scheme, which collects and recycles trees from across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire in exchange for a donation, has raised £17,000.

The money will support the work of the Risley hospice, which provides nursing care and emotional support for adults with life limiting conditions, those who have been bereaved, and their families.

The most recent scheme was supported by a number of local businesses, including Ward, which supplied skips.

Laura McWha, business relationships manager at Treetops, said: “This year, we were able to expand the postcode collection so even more households could benefit from having their tired and worn-out Christmas trees removed and recycled.

“We’ve had wonderful support from the local business community to make this such a success.”
