Katapult's Helping Hands
The winner of Bondholder Katapult's Helping Hands competition 2020 – an initiative set up to support charities and communities – has been found.
Findern Primary School has been chosen as the winner of £10,000 of expertise for a newly-designed playground, which included concept design, 3D visualisations and executive production to assist in the playground’s installation.
The playground was installed over the summer and is open to pupils, parents and teachers ready for their first term of the year. It features a climbing frame, multi-sensory garden, creativity stations and breakout areas for storytime.
The Helping Hands initiative was launched by Katapult, the themed attraction and experience design company, in 2018 and has since provided support to UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cromford Mills, and the National Food Museum in East Anglia.
Katapult’s CEO & Co-Founder, Dawn Foote, said: “Happy memories are made on great playgrounds and we feel the mix of physical, creative and tranquil spaces will give all pupils their own little moments of joy.”
Speaking about the playground, Findern School’s Head Teacher Paula Fox, added: “We are incredibly proud of our reimagined play area and we cannot wait to see our pupils enjoy it everyday too. The playground now has an abundance of fun and gives the children a space to be more creative, curious and compassionate to the natural world.”
