The prestigious Buxton Crescent Health Spa Hotel will open its doors on 1 October 2020 following the £68 million refurbishment and renovation of one of England’s most significant Georgian architectural buildings.

This is the first UK property from the Ensana Hotels brand, launched in 2019 – the leading health spa brand in Europe. The group currently manages 26 spa hotels across Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and the UK and has a wide collection of spa hotels located in Europe’s most historic spa towns – renowned for their natural healing resources and restorative properties.

On the edge of The Peak District National Park, the hotel opening will revive the water wellness traditions of the historic spa town of Buxton, with guests able to experience the therapeutic qualities of the water for themselves.

Following a multi-million-pound renovation and thanks to one of the largest grants ever awarded from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and significant support from other stakeholders, the new hotel blends the outstanding history of the 18th century exterior with modern comforts and will be a significant addition to Derbyshire's visitor economy offer.

The property comprises 81 rooms and suites and is home to three pools – the Thermal Pool which is a fully refurbished Victorian pool boasting the unique feature of having Buxton mineral rich water flowing into it, which is heated and left chemically untreated; a relaxation pool with an atmospheric dark ceiling pierced with shafts of light and an impressive indoor-outdoor rooftop pool. The spa has eight treatment rooms.
