Shortlisted for success
Bondholder East Midlands Railway and its community partners have been shortlisted for 18 Community Rail Awards.
The UK-wide Community Rail awards recognise the unsung heroes of the community rail world for their hard work and dedication.
Amongst the 18 shortlisted nominations is an intergenerational art project, a community-built pergola scheme and a dedicated volunteer.
Donna Adams, Community Engagement Manager at East Midlands Railway, said: “It’s great to have so many nominations this year as I know how much hard work has gone into many of the projects.
“Community rail has a real impact beyond the railway station and enables people to come together to achieve something that will benefit their community.
“It helps provide economic and social benefits – helping to improve gateways to towns and villages and create a community support network.
“At East Midlands Railway we are a strong supporter of community rail and proud to be part of such worthwhile projects.”
