Residential re-start
Work has re-started on the Nightingale Quarter, the £150m residential development by Bondholder Wavensmere Homes in Derby’s city centre.
The company has confirmed that it is back to ‘all systems go’ on the site as lockdown restrictions have eased.
Managing Director, James Dickens, said it was a positive sign for the region and they were still on track to fulfil their promise of 800 homes.
Brickwork is also due to start being laid in August, which is when the changes will really be noticed on site.
James said: “We have been very careful to protect our subcontractors throughout this period, and with them coming back on site now, we are making sure we are COVID compliant, while maintaining productivity for the works.
“We are very excited about being back, and even more so about finally being able to start work on the Pepper Pot South building which we know a lot of residents in and around the city will be interested in seeing.”
Demand has also been incredibly high for properties, as lockdown has peaked buyers’ interest in new homes, and James said they were expecting a flurry of people getting set to want to buy from new.
Enquiries opened for the first wave release of the luxury 125 two and three-bedroom homes opened earlier this year, and already hundreds of people have expressed an interest in them.
