New Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire
Elizabeth Fothergill CBE DL, chairman of Bondholders Pennine Healthcare and Derby Museums Trust, has been appointed as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire.
A previous High Sheriff of Derbyshire, Liz was chief executive of Pennine Healthcare for 34 years and was awarded a CBE for for services to the healthcare sector in 2015. She has now taken over from Mr William Tucker CVO as the Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire.
Liz is to tell her story on Friday 5th June at the Bondholder Live Lounge online session, in an interview hosted by Neil White, co-founder of Bondholder Black & White PR. She will talk about who has inspired her along the way, challenges she has overcome and, as chairman of the Derby Book Festival, about her passion for books.
Liz said: “It is a great honour and enormous privilege to be appointed as the successor to Mr William Tucker CVO HM Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire, who retires in July after 11 years of outstanding, dedicated service to the County. I look forward to building on his work in showcasing Derbyshire, it’s innovative businesses, tremendous organisations, passionate individuals and exceptional charities, which enrich our lives and make it such a tremendous place to live, work, visit and study.
“There have been Lord-Lieutenants in Derbyshire since Tudor times but I will be the first female to hold this office.”
