Colleague Box and Century Mobile have upped their support for Safe & Sound, a charity for young people who are victims of or at risk of exploitation.

Colleague Box has created a special ‘Hope Box’ for the young people the charity helps, filled with calming activities, treats and positive messages.

They will be distributed over the coming months to 200 young people who are supported by Safe & Sound.

And the charity is appealing to individuals and businesses to sponsor a £20 Hope Box so that as many people as possible can receive one.

Colleague Box has also chosen Safe & Sound as its charity partner for its Christmas personalised gifts campaign – pledging £1 to the charity for every order received.

Meanwhile, Safe & Sound is stepping up its relationship with Century Mobile.

The business already operates a successful recycling scheme, with unwanted mobile devices recycled and the funds donated to the charity.

Now, Century has pledged to supply the charity with mobile technology to ensure safe and secure contact with the young people and families they support.

Tracy Harrison, chief executive at Safe & Sound, said: “Our workload has greatly increased during the pandemic, particularly with children and young people, some as young as eight, being groomed online.

“Covid restrictions have made it challenging to provide face-to-face support so safe and secure mobile technology is particularly vital for our team who are working with hundreds of local young people and their families.

“We are grateful for the support from fellow Bondholders throughout the year to raise money for us and help us with vital services to ensure that we can support even more young people and their families during these continued difficult times.”
