Bondholder success at Chamber business awards
Marketing Derby Bondholders scooped top prizes at the Derbyshire Business Awards, organised by East Midlands Chamber.
More than 40 organisations from across the county were shortlisted in this year’s awards, which were broadcast via YouTube, having been pre-recorded at ‘AV IT Media’s studio in Derby.
Run in partnership with principal sponsor Mazars, the awards featured 13 categories – and Bondholders carried off three of the top honours.
Winning the Outstanding Growth Award was Bloc Digital, which beat off competition from fellow Bondholders Cosy, Scenariio and think3.
Bloc Digital was also a finalist in the Business Improvement through Technology category, as were Derby Swap Shop.
And Bloc Digital’s Ranica Brown was a finalist in the Apprentice of the Year category.
Rhodes Wealth Management triumphed in the Commitment to People Development category, in which HSG was a finalist.
Rhodes was also a finalist in the Excellence in Customer Service category, alongside fellow Bondholder Anoki.
The Education and Business Partnership Award was won by Embark Federation. Derby High School was a finalist in this category.
Wathall’s was a finalist in the Community Impact Award category, as was Tom Ward, of Wytech, in the Young Professional of the Year Award category.
And think3 was also a finalist in the Small Business of the Year category.
Scott Knowles, chief executive of East Midlands Chamber, said: “Clearly, 2020 has been full of new experiences for us all and this is certainly not how we expected this year’s event would be held when we launched back in February, but like many things over the course of the past eight months, just because things are different, it doesn’t mean they’re any less special.
“There is so much to celebrate within our business community, which has really shone through during what has been a very challenging period for many.
“Throughout this time, there have been some incredible examples of real business success.
“We’ve been in awe at how many companies haven’t just stood still and clung on for their lives but have continued to innovate and grow their way through the crisis.
“We are in the middle of an economic recovery and these are just the kinds of businesses we should be highlighting when we’re shouting about everything the East Midlands has to offer. We know it’s a great place to do business and these are living proof.”
