New Royal Buildings tenant is a beauty
Clowes Developments, with the support of agents, FHP Property Consultants, has secured a deal which will see a national aesthetics clinic take a long-term lease on historic premises in Derby city centre.
Skin HQ, a leading aesthetic clinic specialising in laser hair removal and skin treatments using cutting edge technology, has agreed a 10-year lease on premises at the Royal Buildings, in Victoria Street.
According to Clowes, the deal is significant as it marks the first time in decades that all of the ground floor units have been fully occupied.
Emma Purdy, trainee management surveyor at Clowes Developments, said: “The group purchased the Royal Buildings, once a prestigious hotel in its day, many years ago.
“Since then, we have had various tenants occupying the space. More recent occupiers include Cosy Club, Conder Developments, Beighton’s Solicitors, Train Motivate Excel, Elements and Zak Dler, to name a few.
“But this deal marks the first time in modern history that our ground floor units are fully occupied.
“This is a real turning point for the area, which has witnessed significant change due to the regeneration of the Becketwell area, located directly opposite.”
Skin HQ already has clinics in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Bradford.
It provides a range of treatments, including laser hair removal, hydra facial, fire and ice facial and microdermabrasion.
Skin HQ is now in the process of refitting the unit at Royal Buildings. The new branch will officially open as soon as lockdown restrictions allow.
Estée Coulthard-Boardman, a surveyor at FHP Property Consultants, said: “I’m really pleased to have been involved with this letting.
“Skin HQ will complement the existing mix of independent business already located within the Royal Buildings.
“Demand for small retail units continues and we are currently speaking with a number of new businesses who are seeking space within the city centre.
“I wish Skin HQ the very best in their new venture and I look forward to seeing them open very soon.”
