Record intake at Toyota
Bondholder Toyota Manufacturing UK has recruited 29 graduates and industrial placement students – three times more than the usual intake.
The graduates, coming from a range of Bachelor and Master degrees, including Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Maths, Business, Psychology and Data Science, are on a two-year scheme which results in them obtaining a guaranteed position as either an Engineer or Specialist.
They are working in a variety of different areas from Production Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Production Control to HR and Finance.
The company is also taking on a larger number of apprentices this year too, 48 in total, and additionally, due the strong demand for its Corolla hybrid model, has recently launched a recruitment drive for production personnel.
Jim Crosbie, Managing Director, said: “Despite 2020 being a year like no other, Toyota remains committed to the employment and training of a highly skilled workforce in the East Midlands region. We have a great product that is in high demand – long may it continue.”
