Derby ranks third in best city report
A report has concluded that Derby is the third best place to live in the country out of 25 of the most populated areas.
The research was carried out by Web-Blinds.com and evaluated a total of 175 different statistics including proximity to the sea, average amount of rainfall and sunshine, number of parks per 10,000 people and the number of nearby National Trust sites.
Beating Bristol and Brighton, Derby was applauded for its close proximity to the Peak District and the good weather in the city compared to other locations. The city also faired well with the amount of open spaces per 10,000 people, scoring the highest with 12 parks.
Kirsty Martin, spokeswoman for Web-Blinds.com, commented: “Swansea, Derby, Plymouth, Bristol and Brighton each bring their own unique elements of beauty for those who choose to reside in them, making each one an ideal choice for those looking to settle down in a picturesque location but with all the benefits of the big city.”
