Bondholders Assist in the Purchase of DCFC
Bondholders Geldards, Smith Cooper and Flint Bishop all played a part in the purchase of Derby County Football Club earlier this month by one of the UK's richest businessmen, Mel Morris.
Corporate lawyers based at the Derby office of Geldards joined forces with accountants and business advisors Smith Cooper to help Mel complete his purchase of Derby County Football Club. Bondholder Flint Bishop acted for the seller, North American Derby Partners who sold their remaining shares to Mel on Friday 4th September, making Mel the sole owner.
Born in Derby, Mel has ran several successful businesses but is probably known best for his current role: shareholder and non-executive chairman of King Digital Entertainment, the company behind online gaming sensation Candy Crush.
