The Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) visited Bondholder University of Derby to award Team Derby Motorsport with a grant of £3,000 after the team won this years' Rookie Team Award.

Team Derby Motorsport is made up of 18 undergraduate and postgraduate students, the majority of which study Motorsport Engineering at the University of Derby. The team will race against 135 other teams from 28 different countries at Formula Student 2015, which takes place from July 8-12 at Silverstone.

Formula Student 2015 – run by IMechE – is the world's largest student motorsport event and challenges student engineers to design, build and race a single seat racing car in one year. This will be the first year the Derby team has entered the competition as a Class 1 team.
