Derby Highly Praised by Rough Guide
Derby has been hailed as the 'unsung hero of the Midlands' in the most recent iteration of the prestigious Rough Guides series.
This praise really shows the dramatic turnaround the city has made over the last decade; the review even says that “Derby might be one of the UK's most misjudged cities” – a real coup for the city.
Writer Lottie Gross said she was won over by the great beer on offer; charming shops and buildings; the city's industrial heritage and great places to eat.
Lottie wrote: “Derby's growing beer industry shouldn't really be that much of a surprise – after all, the city has a history of invention, engineering and production.
Food on offer in the city also added to the delights of her trip and she made particular mention of Derby Pyclet Company, Jack Rabbits and Derby Cathedral.
