After being unwell for some time one of Derbyshire's most successful developers, Charles Clowes, passed away yesterday at his home in Brailsford.
Since founding his business in 1964, Mr Clowes built it into one of the strongest and largest privately owned property development groups in the UK. Based in the Derby area the CWC Group was an active Marketing Derby Bondholder.
With an impressive record of commercial, retail and residential developments Mr Clowes regularly appeared in The Sunday Times Rich List; in 2013 he was reported to have had a personal wealth of £182 million.
He was also an avid Derby County fan, putting together a consortium bid back in 2004 when the club was £30 million in debt.
