Bombardier to Create Derby Jobs
Bondholder and train manufacturing giant Bombardier has announced it will create 150 jobs after securing both the Crossrail contract last year and orders to extend London Overground trains from four to five carriages.
The news came during Chancellor George Osbourne's delivery of a six-point long-term economic plan for the Midlands.
Bombardier employs 3,500 at its eight sites across the UK, with 1,600 employees based in Derby. The majority of roles will be in engineering and project management with 80% of jobs being based at the Derby site.
