Trent 7000 completes first run

Bondholder Rolls-Royce's newest addition to the Trent family, the Trent 7000, has successfully completed an initial power run on a test bed in Derby.

The Trent 7000 was chosen by Airbus to exclusively power the Airbus A330neo and brings together:

  • experience from the Trent 700 – the engine of choice for the current A330
  • architecture from the Trent 1000 TEN – the latest version of the Trent 1000 engine
  • latest technology from the Trent XWB – the world's most efficient large civil engine

The Trent 7000 will deliver significant performance benefits such as reducing specific fuel consumption by 10%, having twice the bypass ratio and halving noise.
