Superhospital Innovation Wins Two National Awards
Staff from the Royal Derby Hospital (now commonly known as the “Superhospital”) have received two national awards at a ceremony held in London for developing training packages which have now been rolled out across the country.
The project, which was aimed at getting people working in its A&E department has won two prizes at the Health Service Journal's Value in Healthcare Awards. Winning across two categories, Training and Development and Workforce Efficiency, Derby Hospitals said the changes saw the hospital meet its target of seeing 95% of the A&E patients within four hours.
Judges said the project “demonstrated excellent leadership” and they also described the desire of the team as “impressive”.
