Friar Gate Welcomes Las Iguanas
Following on from the freehold purchase of 21-23 Friar Gate earlier this month, popular restaurant operator, Las Iguanas, is set to open on Monday 13th October.
Bondholder FHP worked closely with Las Iguanas to convince them that Derby is the ideal spot to invest in. FHP visited Derby on seven consecutive nights to survey how many people were in various outlets at various times; this evidenced to Las Iguanas that there was sufficient mid-week trade to justify their £1/2 million investment.
Las Iguanas creates delicious Latin American specialities with the freshest, highest quality produce from the best British suppliers and carefully sourced authentic ingredients from around the world.
This latest restaurant from Las Iguanas is a truly one-of-a-kind venture, taking the passion and spirit of the Grade II listed building on Friar Gate. The restaurant will be decorated with Latin wall art and artisan tiling with an authentic 18th Century bakery, there will also be a stunning double-height atrium with tumbling foliage, from which diners can watch the expert chefs at work in the open kitchen.
FHP’s Director, David Hargreaves, said: “FHP hope to announce two or three more new arrivals to the Derby market in the next few weeks to complement this letting and the various restaurant operators we have achieved at intu Derby.”
