Children First Derby
Children First Derby is a well-established, award-winning charity, dedicated to working with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people, and families in the Derby area.
Established in 1974 by local Derby resident, Milly Wigley, after reading about the death of a neglected child, the charity’s founding aim is to relieve the distress and suffering experienced by children and their families in the Derby area, particularly those suffering from violence or abuse.
We provide three bespoke services; family support, mentoring services, and supervised contact for looked after children and we have recently been awarded a Queen’s Award for our voluntary service.
Our charity’s founder, Millie Wigley, is still actively involved in the charity and has subsequently been awarded an MBE for her role in founding Children First Derby.
The Bondholder community is a great way for local businesses and non-profit organisations to come together, provide support, and help to drive forward and adapt to cultural changes in a positive and meaningful way.
