Sporting Communities CIC

Sporting Communities are community and social development specialists in operation for 10 years. Our purpose is to listen to the needs of all communities and then provide a myriad of interventions or services to best support the individuals within that community or the community as a whole. We operate through 4 strands; Sporting, Creative, Supporting and Sustaining, each providing a specific theme and approach that allows the services to be tailored effectively to engage and nurture people, creating a starting point for sustainable, positive social change.

Having a philosophy-based approach, it is our values and experience which we apply to everything and everyone we come into contact with, creating a common culture and belief in ‘community’ which is at the heart of everything we do. Sporting Communities is an ethical company and as such examines its own behaviour towards the outside world. It practices consideration morality, fairness, and ethical reasoning and in all cases challenges injustice.

Through our mentoring, training and employment programmes we are able to support the young people to become work ready and help shape the future of Derby’s workforce.
