Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre
Formed in 1891 to provide holidays for the disadvantaged children of Derby, and now a registered charity, the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre provides, county wide, 660 residential holidays a year at it’s purpose built Centre in Skegness.
Children, badly in need of respite, from the difficulties of their daily lives are referred by schools, social services and similar professional bodies to DCHC for a weeks break at the Centre.
Categorised as providing a ‘Secondary Educational Experience’ the week’s break at the Centre delivers respite with demonstrated improvement to behaviour and outlook. Benefits accrue not only to the children but also to parents, guardians and teachers.
We became Bondholders to participate in the development of Derby and the subsequent advantages that that brings to the community at large
