Community Action Derby

Community Action Derby is a registered charity providing support and guidance for the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector in Derby. We encourage, support and develop individuals, groups and organisations engaged in voluntary action, whilst also promoting new initiatives that address social exclusion and economic inequality. Acting as a bridge between the voluntary sector, businesses, and local authorities, we foster partnerships and collaboration to address key social issues within the city.

Our work helps the sector manage and develop their groups and organisations through a wide range of services, including:
• Providing expert funding advice and information on the latest funding opportunities
• Offering training and development opportunities
• Representing the VCSE sector on local and national partnership bodies and forums
• Promoting events organised by local VCSE groups
• Publicising job vacancies in the local VCSE sector
• Organising networking events that bring the sector together
• Providing access to a wide range of information, such as external training opportunities, events, and venue hire information
• Celebrating the achievements of the sector and the dedication of local volunteers through our annual Voluntary Sector Awards.

As the Volunteer Centre for Derby, we also provide a volunteer brokerage service that connects potential volunteers with organisations in need of volunteers. We support volunteer-involving organisations by advertising volunteer opportunities, helping to develop opportunities, recruiting and placing volunteers, and offering guidance to those responsible for managing volunteer programs.

The Bondholder scheme offers a fantastic platform for networking, visibility, and collaboration. As well as allowing us to broaden our reach and ensure that the voluntary and community sector is well-represented in Derby’s growth and development, we are excited about the opportunity to build connections and the potential for mutually beneficial
collaboration with the local business community.
