World's Greatest Explorer at Chamber dinner

This year's East Midlands Chamber Annual Dinner takes place at the Roundhouse on 17th March and will feature key speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes and guest speaker the Rt Hon Anna Soubry MP.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes was once described as the “World's Greatest Explorer” in the Guinness Book of Records and has enjoyed three decades of travelling since. He's also written over 20 books about his travels as well as receiving over 15 awards including being knighted in 1993. To top it all off, he's also raised a staggering £14m for good causes in his time.

The Rt Hon Anna Soubry MP, Minister for Small Business Industry and Enterprise and Conservative member for Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire, will also be a guest speaker. Anna studied Law at Birmingham and worked as a criminal barrister until being elected to Parliament in 2010. In 2013 she was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State and Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans and then in 2014 she became Minister of State at the Ministry of Defence before her latest appointment.

Scott Knowles, Chief Executive of East Midlands Chamber, said: “The Annual Dinner is the biggest event on the Chamber's calendar and we always manage to attract high-quality speakers. But to have Sir Ranulph and the Rt Hon Anna Soubry MP as speakers this year is terrific.”
