Hardy signs off on Derbion rebrand project
Hardy Signs has completed the installation of external signage at the Derbion shopping centre – with the finished article captured on film by MiniAperture Photography.
The installation team at Hardy took almost two weeks to install 20 illuminated signs as part of the rebrand of the former Intu Derby shopping centre.
The centre changed its name earlier this year after Cale Street took full ownership.
New signage has been installed across all sides of the shopping centre, including above the entrances off Albion Street, Traffic Street, and by The Spot.
Most of it was installed throughout the evening and early hours of the morning by abseiling teams.
Tom Hardy, who led the project, said “Hardy Signs were delighted to be chosen as the preferred supplier to carry out such a prestigious contract.
“The shopping centre itself has a commanding presence on the city skyline and the new signage compliments that perfectly.”
Adam Tamsett, general manager at Derbion, said: “We have been impressed by Hardy Signs’ enthusiasm and commitment to this exciting project.
“As Derbion sits in the heart of the community, it’s great to be able to work with a local company. We are delighted with the installation of our new exterior signage, which was the final step of unveiling of our new identity.”
During the project, Hardy Signs called on Laura Firth, from MiniAperture Photography to film and take pictures of its work.
She said: “I was absolutely delighted to be able to showcase this iconic project for them.
“It was refreshing to see the high level of integrity that they work to as well as the lengths they go to when building fantastic working relationships with other local businesses.
“It’s also been an honour to help promote the rebrand of one of Derby’s most key buildings.”
