Unit sale to concrete industry supplier firmed up
Clowes Developments has secured the sale of a unit at one of its business parks on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border.
The firm has sold the facility on Plot 5 of Castlewood Gateway, at Castlewood Business Park, to ConSpare and sister company ProSpare, for an undisclosed sum.
Ashfield District Council gave the green light for a 19,438 sq ft single story industrial warehouse unit earlier this year, which allowed Clowes to press on with its construction.
Established in 1978, ConSpare supplies spare parts and process improvement solutions to the UK concrete producing industry.
ProSpare was founded in 2007 and serves companies handling and processing powders or bulk raw materials, with clients in sectors such as quarrying, recycling, glass and food manufacturing.
The new premises, which are four times bigger than their previous premises in Pinxton, will allow both firms to improve the efficiency of their warehousing operations. It will see 40 staff relocate to Castlewood Gateway.
Castlewood Business Park, which sits at the heart of a major centre for manufacturing and logistics located off junction 28 of the M1, has already seen 1,500,000 sq ft of industrial space built and occupied.
It is already home to a 480,000 sq ft Co-op distribution centre and Parker Knoll’s 100,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility.
