Team Derby is set to fly the flag for the city at a major real estate event, which is set to take place next month.

The team is to attend the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which will take place in Leeds from Tuesday 20th May to Thursday 22nd May, where over 10,000 people are expected to gather.

Accompanied by members of Derby City Council’s leadership and supported by a number of its Bondholders, Marketing Derby’s inward investment team will highlight city investment opportunities and pipeline projects, building upon the high levels of investor interest created at MIPIM in Cannes in March.

Team Derby will also support the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), which will launch a brand-new vision for the future of the region’s economy in its first East Midlands Pavilion at the event.

Councillor Nadine Peatfield, leader of Derby City Council and Deputy Mayor of EMCCA, said: “It’s really important to keep putting Derby on the investment radar. This year, we are doing so on the back of considerable investment momentum with many transformational projects coming to fruition in Derby city centre this summer and significant public and private sector investment in key sectors such as rail, nuclear and low carbon.

“We are looking forward to doing so in partnership with colleagues at EMCCA and alongside other inward investment teams in the region to help demonstrate the breadth of opportunities and depth of local expertise.”

UKREiiF aims to connect people, places and businesses to drive sustainable, inclusive and transformative investment and regeneration.

It brings together the public sector – with every core UK city and region involved – alongside government, investors, funders, developers, housebuilders and more.

Team Derby’s activity will include panels, roundtable discussions and one-to-one meetings.

Marketing Derby is delighted that it is partnering with AtkinsRéalis to deliver its programme at UKREiiF. AtkinsRéalis has been appointed, with Mott MacDonald, as Rolls-Royce’s new fissile design partners in the expansion of its Raynesway site in Derby.

On Tuesday 20th May, AtkinsRéalis will join a Derby showcase panel looking at the impact of Rolls-Royce’s major nuclear submarines Unity contract on the city’s economy and other investment opportunities across all classes in Derby.

And on Wednesday 21st May, they will support Marketing Derby in running a private roundtable event with a group of Bondholders from the property and investment sectors. A full write-up of the discussion will be published in the autumn edition of Innovate Magazine, view our previous editions here.

John Forkin, managing director at Marketing Derby, said: “We are really pleased to be working with the AtkinsRéalis team at UKREiiF 2025.

“We have created a programme of activity that showcases some of Derby’s sector-based USPs which will have a significant impact on the city’s, and wider region’s, economy and growth. These will be of real interest to investors, developers and property professionals attending UKREiiF this year and we are looking forward to making new connections and having some fruitful discussions.”

If you are attending this year’s UKREiiF and would like to meet Team Derby or join one of its events, visit our Invest in Derby website, here.

Team Derby will also be supporting events being organised by EMCCA in its pavilion and as part of the broader UKREiiF programme showcasing the East Midlands offer. Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward is encouraging delegates to visit the EMCCA Pavilion, saying: “The East Midlands is a hidden gem – but it won’t be hidden for much longer. When you join us at UKREiiF, we will be telling this story with a brand-new East Midlands spatial vision – bringing to life the potential for investment, business, and development.”
