Venue eyes further growth after successful 2024

The general manager of Derby Conference Centre has been reflecting on a successful 2024 – while revealing exciting plans for the venue this year.
Richard Jones said that 2024 was a “year of growth, community and milestones” for the centre, which features an array of conference rooms, meeting rooms, 50 en-suite hotel bedrooms and self-catering accommodation.

Last year, it continued with the refurbishment of its hotel bedrooms, raised money for its chosen charity – Railway Children – and marked five years as the home of the Derby Comedy Club.
Derby Conference Centre also enjoyed a record-breaking year for weddings, hosting 18 in total.
This year, in addition to continuing to update its hotel bedrooms, Derby Conference Centre will this month relaunch its newly refurbished Stephenson & Euston Suite, which will host weddings, conferences and special events.
Mr Jones said that key to venue’s success is the staff – and this year there will be a focus on “team loyalty”.
He said: “We’re committed to maintaining a supportive and engaging work environment that values and develops our team members.
“Their dedication has been key to our success, and we’ll continue to invest in their wellbeing and growth.
“With a packed calendar of events, exciting new projects and a commitment to building on the strong foundations of 2024, I’m confident that 2025 will be a year of opportunity and growth.
“I’m filled with optimism about what lies ahead for the Derby Conference Centre.
“This year promises to be another exciting chapter of progress and success.
“On behalf of the entire team, I want to thank everyone – our guests, clients, and community.”
