Developer hatches plan for recently acquired city centre property

An independent property developer has announced plans to transform the upper floors of a newly acquired property in Derby city centre.

Cavendish & London Property Group has confirmed it has acquired 40 Sadler Gate, in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter.

While the ground floor retail space is set to welcome a new tenant, Cavendish & London said that the upper floors will undergo “an exciting transformation”.

The firm plans to reimagine the underutilised space to create a brand-new six-bed apartment scheme, subject to planning permission being approved.

The completed project would provide “high-quality, modern living accommodation” which would be “tailored to meet the needs of today’s urban dwellers”.

In a statement, Cavendish & London Property Group, said: “This prime property represents a blend of history, culture, and opportunity, aligning perfectly with our mission to regenerate and breathe new life into the East Midlands’ property landscape.”

According to the firm, the acquisition also represents its ongoing commitment to regenerating Derby.
