Charity set to benefit from Santa tour
Derby Rotary Club has again chosen child exploitation charity Safe and Sound as a recipient of funds raised during the organisation’s annual Santa and Sleigh tour around Derby.
Santa and his elves will be joined by staff and volunteers from Safe and Sound on weekday evenings between 2 and 21 December to bring Christmas cheer to families who then donate to the cause.
Tracy Harrison, chief executive at Safe and Sound, said: “We are grateful to have been chosen as recipients for the Santa and Sleigh, which is a popular activity in the run up to Christmas.
“The funds raised will enable us to help and protect many more young people, provide a support lifeline to their families and continue to raise awareness of the mounting dangers facing young people both online and in our local communities.”
John Cheadle, from Derby Rotary Club, said: “The Rotary Club of Derby is pleased to be supporting Safe and Sound with our Santa Sleigh again.
“Our objective is to support charities helping children at this time of year and Safe and Sound do just that, so we look forward to helping them.”
