University workshop to provide nuclear industry insight
The University of Derby is set to stage a special workshop, which would look at how organisations can potentially pivot the work they do to access an exciting future in nuclear.
The Working in the Nuclear Industry: Advanced Manufacturing & Nuclear Challenge Opportunities event will be delivered by the university, in partnership with Rolls-Royce, Nuclear Collaboration (formerly Nuclear AMRC), and the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
Taking place on Thursday 28 November, from 9am to 2pm, at the university’s Enterprise Centre, in Bridge Street, it will provide information about the nuclear industry and explains how organisations can tap into it.
The workshop will be delivered using a variety of presentations and speakers, with a maximum of 50 individuals able to attend.
The event will begin will networking and refreshments before the first presentation called ‘The Nuclear Landscape, Skills Demand in the Sector, Digital Engineering Tools’.
This will be followed by ‘Capability of Nuclear Plant Applications, How to Win Work in Nuclear, Human Factors & Ergonomics’.
After the lunch break their will be a session on ‘Safety in the Workplace’, followed by a final presentation by the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
The university is now accepting bookings from organisations interested in attending.
Bookings will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis due to expected demand.
The final agenda for the workshop will be sent out following registration to the event and will include timings for each of the presentations.
