The annual Derbyshire Brain Game, sponsored by Bowmer + Kirkland, has raised almost £66,000 for an end-of-life charity.

The event, in aid of Marie Curie UK, recently took place at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium.

It saw 34 businesses (including many Bondholders) host tables and take part in an eight-round quiz, hosted by Adam Buss, which included questions on the East Midlands, STEM, leading ladies, music and food and drink.

The winning team was the University of Derby, with Marketing Derby coming a creditable third.

On the night, a grand total of £65,782 was raised for the charity, which included money raised from a raffle, as well as a live auction of ‘money can’t buy’ experiences conducted by Steve Salloway, of Salloway Property Consultants.

The Derbyshire Brain Game has been running for 11 years – 10 of which have seen Bowmer + Kirkland act as the main sponsor.

The amount from this year’s event means that more than £500,000 has been raised for Marie Curie UK since the Derbyshire Brain Game began.
