Get the inside track at our Bank of England roundtables
Marketing Derby Bondholders are being encouraged to sign up for roundtable sessions where they will be able to get insights into the economy from a representative from the Bank of England.
Around two to three times a year, Marketing Derby arranges a lunch and roundtable session for groups of Bondholders with a regional representative.
The sessions begin with an overview of the state of the national economy and some short-term predictions.
This is then followed by a roundtable discussion, where Bondholders are given the chance to talk about how their industry is fairing, outlining the challenges and opportunities.
Topics covered at previous sessions include Brexit and the impact of Covid-19.
Following each session, the Bank of England representative feeds back information from the discussion to officials at its headquarters in London, which helps them to gauge the state of the economy on the ground in the regions.
Lindsey Hatfield, Marketing Derby’s commercial development manager, who helps organise the sessions, said: “The sessions are very informal, relaxed, and a good chance to meet with other Bondholders in a small group.
“I’d also like to stress that no-one at these sessions is asked to divulge any sensitive information about their business.”
Grace Golden, head of client growth at Purpose Media, attended one of the most recent roundtables.
She said: “It was an insightful event, which discussed key factors in business.
“It was interesting to hear how different industries and sizes of businesses had been impacted during the pandemic – and their routes to recovery.
“It was a small panel, which allowed each member to share their honest thoughts and views in a relaxed environment.
“I would recommend the event for people to gain business insights and overviews.”
