Children First Derby has announced that the chairman of Pennine Healthcare has become its latest new patron.

Liz Fothergill CBE has agreed to take on the role at the charity, which supports vulnerable children, young people and families.

Mrs Fothergill, who is currently His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, confirmed her acceptance of the position following a visit to its base in June.

During that visit, she met staff and learned more about the charity’s work, while accompanied by Sir Stephen Moss, who is also a patron of Children First Derby.

Fred Jacques, chair of the board of trustees said: “I am absolutely delighted and grateful to Mrs Fothergill for accepting our invitation to become a patron of Children First Derby.

“I am sure that her experience and knowledge will be a source of inspiration and guidance for the charity.”
